Our Neighbors, the Crocodiles! BioReserva Cerro Hermoso, Oaxaca, Mexico
Living alongside wildlife means learning to understand, respect, and protect it.
Our colleagues Gloria and Jairo recently led an educational workshop for the youth of the Cerro Hermoso community, exploring the importance of crocodiles as the top predators in our local ecosystem. These incredible animals play an essential role in maintaining ecological balance and keeping our wetlands healthy.
Through conversation and environmental education, our young participants learned why crocodiles deserve our respect, why protecting their habitats is so important, and how people and wildlife can coexist safely.
We ended the workshop with a creative art activity, giving our young conservationists an opportunity to express what they learned and their appreciation for these remarkable neighbors.
At BioReserva Cerro Hermoso, we believe conservation begins with education. By empowering the next generation with knowledge, curiosity, and respect for nature, we are helping build a future where communities and wildlife thrive together.
Protecting our wildlife starts with understanding it.
